First Aid at Work Re-qualification(FAWR)

For those learners that are seeking to renew their 3 day First Aid at Work qualification there is a 30 day grace period from when the original certificate expires.

Delegates must have evidence (e.g. certificate) of their previous First Aid training.

Certification

Course Syllabus
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider (EFAW)
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation safely (EFAW)
  • Be able to provide first aid for casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally (EFAW)
  • Be able to provide first aid for a casualty who is suffering a seizure(EFAW)
  • Be able to provide first aid for a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing normally (EFAW)
  • Be able to place AED pads correctly (EFAW)Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock (EFAW)
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding (EFAW)
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury (EFAW)
  • Be able to recognise a casualty who is choking (EFAW)
  • Be able to conduct a secondary survey (Practical bolt on)Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints (Practical bolt on)
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries (Practical bolt on)
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • Explain the factors that affect the severity of burns and scalds
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis (Practical bolt on)
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
