The Kennel club was experiencing a period of change during the first lockdown. They had to radically revise their operation – for both staff and members to allow for restrictions. In addition there were some internal operational initiatives which were being improved – all of which contributed to a period of uncertainty and stress within the workforce.
We worked with the KC to develop a series of “Lone Working” support webinars, to assist those colleagues who were not working from home. In addition we looked at how the management structure could more effectively support remote/ distance working.
Further, more detailed Management of Mental Health courses were scheduled to provide managers with an in depth structure and set of skills to effectively support their colleagues.
Mental health Awareness sessions were arranged for all to raise awareness generally – but also to communicate the company message that it was OK to talk about Mental Ill health.
Further Mental Health First aider sessions were organised for those members of staff who wanted to take their learning further and to be in a position to more effectively support colleagues in distress into the future.
